Top On Demand ERP Software Systems
Aplicor is a well regarded ERP software and CRM software manufacturer. The Aplicor Enterprise system is best suited for middle market and enterprise companies. In addition to the flagship business software system, the company offers industry specific versions for government, financial services and professional services enterprises. Aplicor does not evoke the same market awareness as larger competitors, however, the company has acquired some of the largest software as a service ERP implementations in the world (several implementations over 1,000 users), achieved one of the highest average user counts in the hosted software industry (over 100 users on average) and earned more awards than any other on-demand ERP software company.
BizAutomation.com offers online accounting, customer relationship management (CRM) and a full enterprise resource planning (ERP) software suite for small and midsize (SMB) businesses. The business software product is available in either an on-demand software solution or an on-premise solution. BizAutomation.com is developed in Microsoft .NET and uses the Microsoft SQL Server database and IE browser. BizAutomation.com offers some advanced functionality such as multi-company processing and multi-currency management, however, is priced much lower than other SaaS accounting software competitors and includes a hosting Service Level Agreement (SLA). The company also offers industry specific accounting software editions for the wholesale/distribution, retail, insurance services, consulting services, employment services, managed services (including VARs) and franchiser markets.
INTACCT & SALESFORCE.COM
Based in Silicon Valley, Intacct is an on-demand accounting software manufacturer. The company is offers respectable core financial modules (general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable) and an integrated distribution suite (purchase order, sale order and inventory control). Intacct was developed in the PHP programming environment and uses an Oracle database platform. Intacct's user interface (UI) and page navigation shows a preference for the accounting and CPA community which often has the need to leverage one financial accounting system for multiple client write-up projects. Intacct also leverages the accounting community as a referral and reseller channel. Intacct does not directly offer a CRM software solution however the company partners with salesforce.com and is a member of the Salesforce AppExchange third party directory. The integration between the two products is minimal but workable. A by-product of products developed in different technologies for different purposes shows as the products use vastly different UIs which will result in an increased learning curve and some user frustration.
Founded by Oracle CEO Larry Ellison and born of the same Oracle DNA, NetSuite has become a leader in the on-demand enterprise resource planning software market. NetSuite has demonstrated impressive product maturity, however, struggled to keep customers happy and keep customers at all. NetSuite chooses not to disclose annual customer churn, however, is rumored to have the highest customer turnover in the hosted ERP software industry. Perhaps a victim of being a pioneer in the software as a service industry, the company must balance its product depth with the ability to satisfy customers who subscribe to an accounting software service.
