CRM SOFTWARE BUSINESS STRATEGY
Benfits: enhanced productivity, reduced costs, increased revenues, and improved customer acquisition, service, satisfaction, and retention
Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is for organizations that need to go beyond just tracking names, phone numbers and emails address. Some challenges that business look to address with a CRM solution are...
On-demand CRM, sometimes called hosted CRM or CRM software as a service, can deliver the same enabling business benefits but in much less time and with lower out of pocket investments. On-demand CRM software solutions are remotely delivered, managed and upgraded by a third party hosting organization. This dramatically accelerates the CRM software implementation period and eliminates the need to purchase, maintain and upgrade expensive hardware and software components as well as employ scarce IT resources to manage these business software systems. Users need only a web browser to securely access their CRM software system and access can be obtained from any location at any time. On-demand Customer Relationship Management software applications use a pay-as-you-go pricing model that foregoes upfront capital investments, avoids paying for software that never gets implemented (shelfware) and brings pricing predictability to IT investments. On-premise CRM software manufacturers have suggested that while the on-demand rental model initially saves money, over time it results in a higher cost due to the recurring rental payments. However, when you recognize that the software cost is only about 20 percent of the total cost of ownership (TCO) and that the on-demand model further removes the recurring expenditures for hardware upgrades, new version software upgrades and continuous IT labor, the argument lacks much of its backing. Several analysts have performed on-premise versus on-demand CRM reviews with many quantatively showing lower lifetime costs with the on-demand CRM model. Nonetheless, every CRM implementation is different and every company is advised to perform their own analysis. |
